Adult tissue homeostasis is ensured by a permanent regeneration through cell renewal under the control of immuno-inflammatory processes [1] and after injury, inflammation and its resolution drive repair process towards regeneration or healing leading to loss of function as occurred in aging in which an unresolved inflammatory reaction can impair tissue repair leading to loss of function [2]. Inflammation and its resolution is an extremely complex system in which multiple actors are involved. To simulate such biological events, we propose a theoretical agent-based model using our cellular platform, MecaCell [3].
