Hybrid Synthetic Approach to Animal Interaction

watch Publication As rather new direction, we investigate a hybrid synthetic approach where real and virtual individuals interact with each other. Conventionally, the playback experiments have been performed but it is one-way interaction in a sense that the virtual individuals just replay the recorded or predetermined motions to the real one. We extend the playback experiment to a hybrid experiment where real and virtual individuals can interact with each other mutually. Our hybrid approach shows that there is a difference between mutual and playback experiments and mutual interaction attracts the real animal (which is small fish here) more than the playback interaction.
