Instructions for Presenters
Oral Presentations
- Oral presentations are 25 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A.
- You can either use venue PC's (running Windows 10, PowerPoint) or connect their own equipment via HDMI.
- All presenters should contact their session chair during the break prior to their session.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that presentations show as desired. Please contact your session's conference steward at least 10 minutes before the start of the session.
- By default, slides and audio of all presentations will be recorded for live streaming as well as later access. You can opt out of this if you desire by stating so in the consent form that you should have received.
- Recording of presentations can be paused for any part of the presentation or Q&A session if desired. If you would like to do so, please ask the conference steward of the session how this is done.
Remote Oral Presentations
- Remote oral presentations are 25 minutes.
- Oral presentations should be pre-recorded and a MPEG or AVI video of the talk has to be provided to alife-19@newcastle.ac.uk no later than 22 July 2019.
- Your video presentation will be followed by 5 minute Q&A via Skype for Business. Please provide us your Skype username when you submit your video.
- Please make sure that Skype is up and running on your local machine and that you are available throughout the entire duration of your session as well as the break before.
- Please ensure that you are in a calm environment and have appropriate audio equipment and a good internet connection.
- By default, slides and audio of all presentations will be recorded for live streaming as well as later access. You can opt out of this if you desire by stating so in the consent form that you should have received.
Poster Presentations
- Posters should be no larger than A1 format, either landscape or portrait.
- There will be a poster pitch session on Monday 29 July 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Please submit one presentation slide for your poster to alife-19@newcastle.ac.uk no later than 22 July 2019. Please let us know, should you not be able to take part in the poster pitches.
- Please bring your poster to the conference reception desk upon registration. You will be assigned a poster board number and material to fix your poster.
- Posters will be on display throughout the entire conference. You can indicate preferred presentation times within lunch breaks next to your poster.
Remote Poster Presentations
- Please send us a PDF document of your poster for print by email to alife-19@newcastle.ac.uk no later than 22 July 2019.
- Posters will be printed in A1 format.
- Remote poster presentations will be performed via Skype for Business. Please let us know of your Skype username when submitting your poster.
- We expect remote poster presenters to be available on Skype Monday through Friday 1:00pm - 1:30pm BST (UTC+1) in order to coordinate one-to-one presentations with local delegates.
